What’s On for Adults

Woodley First Thursday Evening Book Group*  Thursday August 1    6pm to 6.45pm

Woodley Library Book Group* – Book group for adults meets to discuss new books and favourite books.  Thursday August 1        11am to 12noon

French Conversation Club – Basic French required. Just drop in!  Sunday August 11 and 25    2pm to 3pm

Scrabble Club  Wednesday August 21           2pm to 3pm

Reminiscence Club – Group for adults discusses topics from days gone by.  Thursday August 29         10.30am to 12 noon

 

What’s On for Children and Families

Sand Art – Just drop in and create a sand art picture. £4 per picture, For children aged 4 to 11 years old.  Thursday August 1 and Tuesday August 27   10.30am to 12.30pm

Space Chase Volunteer Activity Sessions – Talk about your Summer Reading Challenge books and fun activities with our Summer Reading Challenge Volunteers.  Just drop in! Donations welcome.

  • Every Wednesday August 7, 14, 21, 28              2pm to 3.45pm
  • Every Friday August 2, 9, 16, 23, 30                    10.30am to 12.15pm

Space Chase with Fred in the Shed* – Fred in the Shed’s magic show, best suited for 3 years old and upwards. Places must be booked, £4 per child.  Friday August 9    2.45pm to 3.45pm

Apollo@50 – Get involved in an interactive retelling of the Apollo 11 moon landing, 50 years on with the Science and Technology Facilities Council! Handle Moon rocks, meteorites and even a piece of the planet Mars! Take home your very own sparkly bug and a Dark Sky Discovery star chart. For children aged 7 to 11 years old. Places must be booked.  Saturday August 10                             10.45am to 11.45am

MAD Science Rocketeers Workshop* – Come and learn all about rockets! Then create your own. Family friendly workshop for children aged 8 to 11 years old. Limited space, places must be booked, £5 charge.  Monday August 12              11.30am to 12.30pm

Handwriting Zoo* -The animals guide the children through their perfect letter formation, the giraffes’ tall necks help with the letter ‘h’ and the pig’s curly tails help with the letter ‘e’. Free session with Explore Learning, for children aged 4 to 6 years old. Places must be booked.  Thursday August 29           9.30am to 10.30am

Word Problems* – This workshop will help children tackle worded maths problems to become fearless problem solvers. Free session with Explore Learning, for children aged 9 to 11 years old. Places must be booked.  Thursday August 29            10.45am to 11.45am
