So many events going on this summer at Wokingham Borough Libraries.

Art Club* – Come and learn about different artists with creative activity. For children aged 7 to 11 years old. £2 charge per session. At Winnersh Library on Saturday July 28, August 11 and 18 from 1 to 2pm

Baby Mindful Taster Session * Each class is based around a traditional nursery rhyme incorporating a range of activities which will gently simulate and calm your baby whilst supporting their normal development. For adults and babies from birth to 6 months.

  • At Wokingham Library on Monday August 6 from 11am to 12noon
  • At Woodley Library on Monday August 13 from 11am to 12noon

 Children’s Games Afternoon – Selection of board games and puzzles for children.  At Winnersh Library on every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon throughout the holidays from 2 to 4pm

Children’s Chess Club* – For young people aged 8 years old and over.  At Woodley Library on Thursday August 2 from 3.30 to 5pm

Creative Writing Workshops for Teens* – with Igniting Writing. Superheroes – A full day workshop session on the topic of superheroes, for teens. £5 charge. At Wokingham Library on Saturday July 28 from 10.30am to 3pm 

Creative Writing Workshops for Teens* – with Igniting Writing. Worldbuilding – A full day workshop session on worldbuilding within your stories, for teens. £5 charge.  At Wokingham Library on Saturday August 4 from 10.30am to 3pm

Explore Learning – A knights journey to the King’s throne * – All knights go through many quests and this journey to the king’s throne is no different. We travel back to medieval times and children will joust their way through many grammar tournaments. For 5 to 7 year olds.

Explore Learning – Put a spring in your step * – Children can jump straight into this comprehension workshop and learn some fantastic skills that they can apply to any text they read. Can they help us predict what will happen next? And why did that character say that?   For 7 to 9 year olds.

Family Learning with Lego – Hands on session for parents to discover how you can help your child to explore basic  maths such as symmetry, bar charts and fractions –whilst playing with Lego.  For families with children aged 5-7 years. £5 charge. Greek Myth – Eros and Psyche – Summer Theatre Show* Suitable for children aged 5 and over, £5 charge per person.  At Woodley Library on Monday August 6 from 2.30 to 3.30pm

Kiddleydivey* – Energising, stimulating & connecting through music, Come and join us for some musical fun with singing, laughing and dancing. Free taster session.

Mischief Makers with Fred in the Shed* – Fred in the Shed’s magic show, his show is fast paced and a  mixture of light-hearted fun and comedy magic fit for the whole family and best suited for 3yr olds and upwards, be warned his puppet friends supply the mischief. £3 charge per person

ABC to read are a children’s reading charity, who work with children in local schools across Berkshire.

Sessions will be running at the following libraries, Just drop in!

ABC to read are a children’s reading charity, who work with children in local schools across Berkshire and they are looking to recruit more volunteers from the area to help children find the fun in reading.  ABC to read would also welcome the opportunity to support more schools, any enquiries to abctoread@btconnect.com or visit there website http://www.abctoread.org.uk/
