Creative Crafts and Pamper Evening at Woodley Library, Monday December 4th

Following a very successful evening in July, Woodley Library will be holding its second Alternative Therapies and Pamper Evening of the year on Monday 4th December – but this time with a seasonal twist. Alongside many returning and new therapists there will be craft workshops, giving the opportunity to make  personalised gifts and craft stalls for those that like to give something handmade…but not necessarily made with their own hands. They’re also very excited to feature an Acroyoga demonstration and workshop.

Doors will open at 5pm and tickets are available now from Woodley Library at £3 per person to include seasonal refreshments. Treatments and craft workshops are offered at a favourable price for the evening and booking is strongly advised.

Art in Woodley library September 2017 Paul Redfern-Artist and Ceramist

Paul Redfern – Artist, Ceramist art

Nature has been of great interest to me from a very early age and is the main influence in my work. The natural environment as a whole is my inspiration but the elements I really love are cracks and crevasses, natural erosion and the way in which nature sculpts the landscape.

Visiting places such as the Peak District, the Mediterranean, south England coastal areas and the dramatic Norwegian landscape and fjords have given me first-hand experience of the drama of the terrain.

The tonal qualities and formations of shadows and layers inspire my work, providing me with ideas to work the materials. Whilst working on paintings and ceramics, I have the intention to create three-dimensional qualities in the surface texture. When printing, however, it is more important to convey the ambience and tonal qualities of the landscape. If you would like to see more of my work please take a look on website.
